Cathodic Protection

Land Based

Anodeum manufactures tubular anodes, typically 1" in diameter, for ICCP applications, though custom sizes and shapes are available. These anodes are coated with Iridium-Tantalum MMO, a coating proven for its durability in the industry. This ensures the anodes meet the long service life requirements of ICCP systems. The anodes are made from Iridium-Tantalum MMO-coated titanium.

Concrete

Anodeum manufactures anodes for protecting steel rebar in concrete structures. To meet the long service life requirements, Iridium-Tantalum coated titanium is used, a proven and reliable solution. Typically, a small-sized expanded metal ribbon mesh is chosen, though wire options are also available. The ribbon mesh is coated with Iridium-Tantalum MMO for optimal performance.

Marine

Anodeum manufactures anodes for the protection of steel structures in seawater, including sheet piles, quay walls, windmills, oil rigs, and ships. While most anodes are made with Iridium-Tantalum MMO, platinised titanium is also an option. These anodes are custom-made based on customer specifications, with various shapes such as bar-shaped anodes for windmills and quay walls, and circular or elliptical discs for ship hulls. Both Iridium-Tantalum MMO and platinised titanium coatings are available.

Cathodic Protection

Cathodic protection prevents corrosion of steel structures by using an anode to close the electrical loop. Sacrificial anodes or Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) with insoluble anodes are commonly used, with ICCP offering enhanced protection through electrical polarization. Anodeum provides a variety of insoluble anodes for ICCP applications, protecting steel structures in environments like seawater, pipelines, and concrete.

Steel structures in contact with seawater are prone to corrosion, but cathodic protection can prevent this. In this method, the steel is connected as a cathode, and an anode is introduced to close the electrical loop. Sacrificial anodes, made of Zinc, Magnesium, or Aluminium, corrode faster than steel. For enhanced protection, Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) uses electrically polarized anodes. Anodeum manufactures a range of insoluble anodes for ICCP, suitable for applications on land (e.g., pipelines) or at sea (e.g., offshore structures), as well as for protecting rebar in concrete.
